Blueprints / Curated routes

Blueprints are pre-defined journey itineraries that you create once and reuse. They suit tour operators and travel agents who offer the same trips repeatedly.

A Blueprint fixes:

  • Specific train routes and departure times
  • Planned stopovers (overnight stays or longer connections)

Instead of searching for journeys each time, you create a Blueprint once, then use it to find tickets for that exact itinerary whenever a customer wants to book it.

Common use cases

Tour Operators: Create Blueprints for your popular tour packages. When customers book a package, check availability and book tickets using the associated Blueprint.

Travel Agents: Build Blueprints for frequently requested routes and reuse proven itineraries instead of searching fresh each time.

Package Deals: Combine Blueprints with accommodation or experiences, so customers get the exact train itinerary you've designed.

Creating Blueprints

Blueprints are created in the Dashboard, not via the API. You can create:

  • Short connections: Simple point-to-point routes
  • Multi-leg trips: Complex journeys with multiple segments and overnight stopovers

Once created, Blueprints can be used in the Dashboard for manual bookings or fetched via the API. Contact team@allaboard.eu to get access to the Dashboard or help building your first Blueprints.

Finding Blueprint journeys

When searching for journeys, you can apply a filter to only look for results of the type BlueprintJourney. This allows you to use any combination of origin and destination to see if there's a matching Blueprint available.

Origin and destination have to match

Only an exact match of origin and destination will yield a BlueprintJourney result.

Example: Get all Blueprints from Copenhagen to Prague

graphql
query BlueprintJourneys {
  journeys(
    origin: { uid: "jOYDyOgW" }
    destination: { uid: "5BZEWWng" }
    date: "2026-12-02"
    filter: { types: [BLUEPRINT] }
  ) {
    id
    status
    itinerary {
      ... on SegmentCollection {
        segments {
          departureAt
          identifier
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

Getting a specific Blueprint

If you know the exact Blueprint you are looking for, get it directly by its id using getJourneyForBlueprint.

Example: Get Blueprint by id

graphql
query GetBlueprintJourney {
  getJourneyForBlueprint(
    blueprint: "7ad8f9a4-b406-4417-b203-9152b0dc2957"
    date: "2026-12-02"
  ) {
    id
    status
    itinerary {
      ... on SegmentCollection {
        segments {
          departureAt
          identifier
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

Booking a Blueprint journey

Once you have the journey, book it like any other journey: get offers for it and continue with Booking Tickets.
