Interrail & Eurail Passes

Activate Your Pass

Ready to hit the rails? Just activate your Interrail Pass in the Rail Planner App (available on iOS and Android) up to 11 months after you buy it. It's your go-to for planning trips and showing your ticket on the go.

Seat Reservations

While you won't need to book a seat for most local and regional trains, it's a good idea for high-speed, international, and night trains. Booking is key if timing is crucial, you’re traveling with kids, or it’s peak season. Not sure if you need a reservation? Check your route here.

Reserve your spot at the station, on the rail company's website, or right in the Rail Planner App.

Psst... Some say the real charm of Interrail is going reservation-free. We say it's all your choice!

Where Can I Travel with a Rail Pass?

Interrail’s got a hefty chunk of Europe covered, constantly adding more countries and train carriers to the mix. With the Global Interrail Pass, most major European routes are at your fingertips.

Travel to These 33 Countries

From Sweden to Turkey, your pass unlocks adventures across 33 incredible countries: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Estonia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Even if your journey mainly sticks to a few countries on the list, an Interrail Pass often saves you more, especially for longer trips with detours outside the covered countries.

Who Can Travel with an Interrail / Eurail Pass?

Gone are the days when Interrail was just for the young. Today, there’s a pass for everyone:

  • Adult Pass: Open to all ages.
  • Child Pass: For solo travelers under 12.
  • Youth Pass: If you're 27 or under.
  • Senior Pass: For those 60+.

Kids aged 4-11 travel free with an adult, up to two kids per adult pass.

How Do Travel Days Work?

You pick travel days based on your train riding days, not the trip length. Whether it's a short hop or a day-long journey, each counts as one travel day. Mix and match travel days to fit your itinerary, with validity ranging from 1 to 2 months.

Available Combinations:

  • 4 travel days within 1 month after activation
  • 5 travel days within 1 month after activation
  • 7 travel days within 1 month after activation
  • 10 travel days within 2 months after activation
  • 15 travel days within 2 months after activation
  • 15 travel days within 15 days after activation
  • 22 travel days within 22 days after activation
  • 30 travel days within 30 days after activation
  • 60 travel days within 60 days after activation
  • 90 travel days within 90 days after activation

Regular Tickets or Interrail / Eurail Pass?

It all boils down to your trip’s scope.

For a single trip, a regular ticket might be best. But for a multi-stop adventure, an Interrail pass offers unbeatable value and flexibility. Plus, youth and seniors snag extra discounts.

With All Aboard's Trip Planner, we lay out all your options, but the choice is always yours. Beyond savings, the pass offers freedom to explore on your terms and access to exclusive deals across Europe. See available deals.

Delays & Disruptions

Before You Travel…

  • Choose routes with leeway for delays.
  • Consider extra travel insurance for those just-in-case moments.

Missed Your Train?

Thanks to CIV rules, you’re usually covered to hop on the next train without extra charges.

  • Keep your tickets handy.
  • Validate them as proof of delay.
  • Ask station staff for the next steps.
  • Keep receipts for any new tickets for insurance claims.

Travel Insurance

We recommend travel insurance for those unpredictable moments. While CIV may offer some protections, insurance ensures you’re fully covered.
